Guides for specific software problems · Making AI code production-ready

Built with AI — and now the app won't get past the prototype?

The first days with Lovable, Bolt, Cursor or ChatGPT feel like magic. Then come real users, real data and real money — and every new instruction to the AI fixes one thing and breaks two others. That's not your fault. It's the point where almost every AI project gets stuck.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Every change the AI makes breaks something that worked before.
  • Login, permissions or payments work in the preview but not live.
  • You don't know whether customer data is really protected.
  • Your credits run out faster than the app gets finished.
  • No developer wants to touch the code because nobody knows how it's structured.

Why this happens

AI optimises for the demo

A language model writes code that fulfils your instruction and runs in the preview. Error cases, load, security and maintainability aren't in any instruction — so they're missing.

No architecture, just add-ons

A hundred small instructions make a hundred small add-ons. At some point they contradict each other, and the AI itself loses track of its code.

Nobody reviews before go-live

In a traditional team, someone reads every change before it goes live. With vibe coding, exactly this step disappears — and with it quality assurance.

Platform limits

No-code builders are made for getting started. Custom domains, email, background jobs or interfaces to your systems quickly hit their limits.

What to do now

  1. 1

    Secure and export the code

Export the code to your own Git repository (GitHub, GitLab). That way it belongs to you, independent of the platform.

  2. 2

    Stop adding features

Stop requesting new features while the foundation is shaky. Every further instruction makes the later repair more expensive.

  3. 3

    Write down what matters most

Note the three flows that absolutely must work (e.g. sign-up, ordering, payment). That's the yardstick for everything that follows.

  4. 4

Have it reviewed before data flows

Have an experienced developer review the code for security, data storage and architecture — before real customer data or payments run through it.

  5. 5

    Keep building, with review

AI remains an excellent tool. What matters is that every change is judged and tested before it goes live.

How we help

That's exactly our business model: Guided Vibe Coding. We work with AI every day ourselves — and every line is reviewed by senior developers before it goes live.

  • Taking over your existing AI code, whichever tool it came from
  • Review of security, data storage and architecture
  • Cleaning up instead of rewriting, wherever it makes sense
  • Hosting, domains, app stores — we take the application live
  • Afterwards: further development on a Development plan, same-day changes to the live system on a Production plan

Frequently asked questions

Does everything have to be rewritten?

Usually not. Often a large part of the code can be kept. After looking at the code, we'll tell you honestly what can stay and what should be replaced.

Which tools do you take over apps from?

Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT and others. All that matters is that the code can be exported.

Can I keep working with AI myself afterwards?

Yes. The code belongs to you. Many clients keep writing instructions themselves — we implement and review them before they go live.

What does it cost?

One plan per application: a fixed monthly base fee plus the hours actually worked. Prices are listed openly on our pricing page.
